The TSC Alliance is pleased to introduce our new “TSC Center of Excellence” designation for qualifying TSC Clinics. Each TSC Center of Excellence must submit an application specifying how it fulfills each of 11 Core Standards and 14 Gold Standards developed by the TSC Alliance.
The following 10 TSC Clinics have earned the TSC Center of Excellence Designation: University of Alabama TSC Clinic – Birmingham; Northern California TSC Clinic at Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital; – Stanford; University of Maryland, Baltimore; The Herscot Center for TSC – Boston; Boston Children’s Hospital Multi-Disciplinary TS Program; TSC Clinic Without Walls – St. Paul, MN; Washington University TS Clinic – St. Louis, MO; Cincinnati Children’s TS Clinic – Ohio; TS Center of Excellence at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital – Memphis, TN; and University of Texas-Memorial Hermann TSC Center of Excellence – Houston.
CORE STANDARDS encompass three categories of criteria: 1) Clinical Care, including having appropriate specialists and staff; 2) Educational Resource, meaning the clinic serves as a hub for educating the public about TSC; and 3) Partnership, including partnership with TSC Alliance at the community and national levels. GOLD STANDARDS include criteria demonstrating: 1) More depth in specific aspects of Clinical Care, serving as an Educational Resource, and Partnership; and 2) Participation in clinical research.
