On Sunday, April 7, 2019, the 18th Annual Comedy for a Cure® will be held at Academy LA in Hollywood. In 2019, Comedy for a Cure will feature John Henson. In addition to being an actor, writer, host and producer, John is a hilarious stand-up comedian. John started in stand-up comedy before landing his roles in the late-1990s films Meet Wally Sparks and Stag. His credits as a host include Best Commercials You’ve Never Seen, Food Network’s Halloween Baking Championship, several years on the Emmy Award-winning Talk Soup on E! Entertainment Television, and seven seasons of ABC’s obstacle-course game show Wipeout. This year’s event will be co-hosted again by Jim O’Heir and Alex Skuby and feature some of Hollywood’s funniest comedians.
Since its inception, Comedy for a Cure has raised more than $4.75 million, bolstered by the support of the “who’s who” in the entertainment industry and comedy community – Garth Brooks, Bryan Callen, Mo Collins, Mark Curry, Dana Delaney, James Denton, Kate Flannery, Calista Flockhart, Greg Grunberg, Bob Guiney, Chelsea Handler, Teri Hatcher, Patricia Heaton, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jane Kaczmarek, Melina Kanakaredes, Jane Lynch, Bill Maher, Larry Miller, Julianne Moore, Jennifer Morrison, Jim O’Heir, Bonnie Somerville, Ray Romano, Bob Saget, Jimmy Shubert, Sarah Silverman, Variety magazine, Access Hollywood, and many more.
Comedy for a Cure also provides a platform to highlight and pay tribute to those who have made significant differences in our fight against TSC. This year, we are pleased to honor Wendy Liebman and Dr. Joyce Wu and recognize the Szilagyi Family with the Courage in Leadership Award.
